One of the issues with working by preference with oil paints is the time it takes for things to dry. That means that I will typically have several items on the go at the same time and sometimes forget about something until long after it is finished. The paint needs to be well dry before it can be varnished, which brightens the colours, and, more prosaically, erase potential marks, such as charcoal outlines and structures.
Any way, I thought I would share a couple of items that are in progress and waiting to dry, interested in feedback as always.
Pringle is largely completed, I still need to work on the eyes and erase the the charcoal lines, particularly around the nose. This is now completed and can be seen on the Pets and Animals page.
This is as yet untitled, it is the first time I try something that is more abstract style. The inspiration of this was, bizarrely, television murder programmes in which I noticed that many wealthy families appeared to have very large abstract pictures on their walls. I don’t know if I should give it a title as it would immediately lead into meaning something. Perhaps I will keep it as “As Yet Untitled 1“.
